The battery they put in was too small for the hold down so they just didn’t use it. Battery fell over onto the power steering pump pulley which proceeded to eat through the battery, dumping all the acid.

...the plot thickened. I went to put a correct plug in it and found it didnt fit. Naturally I cant really see in the hole so I said ok on gonna put in a timesert. Time set tap pulled out some weird adapted that was also l melted like the incorrect spark plug. Inspected hole with boroscope and found that the hole where the threads should be is all melted and egg shaped.

...something happened with timing. I see a reman injection pump, wondering if that was locked and caused the timing explosion. We’re assembling new engine for this customer and once I remove valve cover and fuel pump, ill be able to see what caused the damage

...if you shake the RF wheel that crack actually opens up and creaks. And the strut mounts pop. And the exhaust has 7 clamps on it. And the rear seat/floorpan is almost touching the pavement.

Cracked block 69000miles
...I couldn’t reconstruct what the exact failure was. It even looked like they tried turning the engine multiple times after failing, which made it worse.

Its on a bus. We ended up welding it to move it around, then replaced the whole thing.

One time I had a battery with no hold down. The car was only used off road that this point but I bit a big bump, and it shifted, the positive terminal came into contacted with the hood. And started welding

Oh man. I can’t even pick a favorite out of this basket of failure.

Although that red hot wheel bearing is nice. And the V10 tailpipe goo is complete schadenfraude.

The tech that put in that steering rack needs to be put away for attempted murder.

Than again the previous shop could have done their best to tell the customer that they need a subframe and customer didn’t buy it literally

Was out Friday doing a grocery/beer run, and this early 00s clapped out wrx was driving towatds me with smoke billowing out of front right wheel, (assuming stuck caliper or bearing ). I don’t know how this moron could keep driving and not notice it.

Part of me wanted to turn around and follow him.
